It is one of the most popular areas of the city of Copenhagen, for both city residents and tourists. An ideal place for a stroll and a drink at the numerous bars and cafes.

Nyhavn (new harbor) was built in the late seventeenth century as a channel allowing access to the sea from the ancient city of Copenhagen.

As time grew into the area inhabited by fishermen and sailors. And later in a notorious neighborhood.

The expansion of the city to the sea eventually absorbing the Nyhavn, now part of downtown Copenhagen.

The Nyhavn canal is a precious present, punctuated by the typical houses with facades of colors (some of them dating from 1681) that give rise to one of the most famous postcards of Copenhagen. In the channel are often many wooden boats moored, which help create a special atmosphere that brings us to the past.

The anchor located at the beginning of the channel is a memorial to Danish sailors who lost their lives during the Second World War.

From Nyhavn boat excursions depart going through the city of Copenhagen through their channels. It is a very nice to meet some of the most representative monuments and buildings of the city.

Nyhavn is also an ideal area for walking and a few beers on the terrace (weather permitting) or inside the bars, pubs and cafes of different styles that can be found on this street.

Radhuspladsen is one of the most famous and liveliest of Copenhagen and one can say that is the nerve center of the Danish capital.

The square itself is a great public space, a reference point for the inhabitants of Copenhagen.

The City Hall, built in 1903, is rectangular. Its facade and perimeter are decorated with many statues of Norse mythology, especially dragons and snakes. Inside you can visit the astronomical clock of Jens Olsen, a jewel of engineering in the first half of the twentieth century.

There are also guided tours to the top of the tower of City Hall, which at a height of 105 meters offering breathtaking views of Copenhagen.

On the island of Ven, located between Denmark and Sweden on the Oresund Strait, are the remains of Uraniborg, the castle was built by the famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe.

By the late sixteenth century, a famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe built a castle (Uraniborg) on the island of Ven to be used as an observatory.

Uraniborg became a research and study center which grew to more than 40 astronomers working at facilities. .Later Brahe decided to build Stjernborg (castle of the stars), an underground observatory that allowed to obtain more accurate astronomical measurements.

Stjernborg The observatory was completed in 1584, making it the first astronomical observatory created exclusively for accurately measuring the positions of stars and the orbits of the planets.

1950 Archaeological excavations revealed the remains of the observatory buildings and the reconstruction of the upper complex.
