Just 20 minutes from Lisbon Estoril is an earthly paradise that was once the fate of the kings of Portugal. Just take any bus that provides the capital to reach this summer destination also can be enjoyed throughout the year.
It is conveniently located in the westernmost part of the mainland and is famous for its cliffs and, in particular, its breathtaking sunsets. Estoril is the place of the sunset in Europe thanks to its perfect sunsets. The best place to enjoy them is from the Promontory da Lua, a cliff located in the Cabo de Roca. In this spot is possible to see the Costa do Estoril, the beach gives a string of Orsa and steep cliffs of green hillsides.
However, it is not the only place from which you can see the sunset. Boca do Inferno is another of the pins. According to legend, the entrance to hell beneath the rocks of this cave that was eroded by the sea. Myth or reality, it does not matter when you can see the sun go down on the horizon.
The beach is a classic sunset. In the case of Estoril, there are 18 options in the Bay of Cascais. Slightly more urban are the sunsets from the Hotel The Oitavos, located in the middle of a stunning natural environment, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and golf course. Estoril also has many terraces that become the perfect setting to enjoy the sunset with a drink in hand.
