Did you know in Denmark, you can get money back if your railroad train is delayed? The scheme is called DSB Basic Travelling Time and applies if your train is more than 30 minutes late. There is a similar scheme to Arriva.
And it works. In late December took my friend and I on the train from Aarhus to Copenhagen. Due to snow and ice was the train underway almost 2 hours late – and otherwise changed from being a fast Intercity trains lightning, to the snail’s pace and stop at all stations. This area includes most of Denmark and includes the cities of Aalborg and Aarhus. The west coast of Jutland offers clean beaches and soft sand, but can be dangerous for swimming due to changes in currents and winds.
