Known as the Garden of Denmark, Funen, Fyn sometimes called, has some of the most picturesque castles and historic mansions in the country, located in old parks and gardens. The city of Odense is famous as the birthplace of the great fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875). Odense is also Brandts Klaedefabrik, another major cultural center. The newest attraction is Naturama Funen, opened in 2005, in which there are three floors of multimedia exhibits on natural history. There are also many beaches, especially the southern islands as Langeland, Tasinge and Aero.

Fyn is the smallest of the three main islands of Denmark. However, it is the prettiest, especially in the south, where it presents an attractive rolling hills and islands. Outside the industrial area north of Odense, the main town in the area and third largest city in Denmark, Fiona is a predominantly agricultural region where most grown fruit and vegetables consumed in Denmark. As such, the island is famous for its gastronomy as well as for its scenery. You can even combine the two with ever-increasingly popular biking tours which stop at restaurants along the way. Fyn field is formed by large stately homes and rustic cottages with thatched roofs. The sea is shallow, which offers a follow for children. Most wear the blue flag beaches of the EU. The other major cities of Fyn, Odense besides, are Middelfart, Faborg, Assens, Munkebo, Nyborg and Sonderborg.

The small peninsula of Denmark stands in northern Germany.
